You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. — Matt 5:14 BSB
We are called the lights of the world—light-bearers, reflectors, candlesticks, and lamps. We must be kindled ourselves, and only then can we shine and give light to others. We are the only light the world has. The Lord could have come down Himself to give light to the world, but He chose to do it through us. If we don’t shine, the world will remain in darkness. We should be shining our light all the time—whether at home, among friends, or in our place at church. We may never have another opportunity to do so, and so we must always be burning and shining for Him. Keep your lamps trimmed and burning, always full of the oil of the Spirit. Above all, be a steady light to those who are lost.
Let me live in Timnath Serah,
Where the sun always shines,
Where night and darkness never come,
And the day never ends.
