Grain for bread must be ground, but it is not endlessly threshed. Though the wheels of the cart roll over it, the horses do not crush it. — Isa 28:28 BSB
The farmer doesn’t handle timothy and bluegrass with the same care as wheat. Likewise, God takes special care with those who are of great use to Him. There’s a part of their nature that requires discipline. Don’t be surprised if God handles you with careful, precise treatment, fitting you for His purposes. He knows exactly what He’s doing, and there’s infinite tenderness in His watchful care. He’s carefully monitoring the furnace you’re in, making sure the heat is just enough to purify you, and He will withdraw it when necessary. He knows your frame and won’t allow any temptation beyond what’s common to man. He will also provide a way of escape so you can endure it. Do you believe in this disciplining love of God, and are you trusting Him to guide and govern your life? Oh, that you would stop envying or being troubled by those around you! Someday, you will be thankful for the training and the blessings that come with it.
