Pray in the Spirit at all times, with every kind of prayer and petition. To this end, stay alert with all perseverance in your prayers for all the saints. — Eph 6:18 BSB

Here is some good counsel for now: stop praying so much for yourself. Begin to ask for unselfish things, and see if God doesn’t give you faith. You’ll find it easier to believe for others than for your own small needs. Try praying for the world, for specific things, for difficult things, for glorious things that honor Christ and save people. Once you’ve received some wonderful answers to these unselfish prayers, you’ll feel stronger in faith to bring your own small burdens to God. Then return again to that higher place of praying for others.

Have you learned the beautiful art of letting God take care of you while you pour out your thoughts and strength in prayer for others and for God’s kingdom? It will free you from countless worries and lift you to a higher, nobler sphere, teaching you to live and love as God does. Lord, save us from selfish prayers and give us faith that works through love, with the heart of Christ for a world in need.
