Is there no balm in Gilead? Is no physician there? Why then has the health of the daughter of my people not been restored? — Jer 8:22 BSB

Divine healing is simply divine life. It is the headship of Christ over the body, the life of Christ flowing into our physical frame. It is the union of our members with Christ’s body and the inflow of His life into our own. This is as real as His resurrection and as reasonable as the fact that He is alive today, seated at the right hand of God. That living Christ belongs to us in all His attributes and powers. We are members of His body, and if we believe and receive, we can live in the very life of the Son of God.

Lord, help me to know You as the Lord of my body and live by Your life.

There is healing in the promise,
There is healing in the blood,
There is strength for all our weakness
In the risen Son of God.

Even the weakest of His children
Can share His glorious life;
There is healing balm in Gilead,
He’s the Great Physician.
