When Jesus had finished speaking, He said to Simon, “Put out into deep water and let down your nets for a catch.” — Luke 5:4 BSB

One of the distinguishing marks of the Holy Spirit in the early church was boldness. One of the most essential qualities of faith, especially when expecting great things from God, is holy audacity. When dealing with the supernatural, it is easier to believe for much than for little. Faith finds it easier to launch out into deep waters, trusting that with God, all things are possible.

Let us today attempt great things for God. Let us take His faith and trust Him to do the impossible through us.

The mercy of God is an ocean divine,
A boundless and fathomless flood;
Launch out in the deep, cut away the shoreline,
And be lost in the fullness of God.

Oh, let us launch out into this ocean so broad,
Where the floods of salvation overflow.
Let us be lost in the mercy of God,
Till the depth of His fullness we know.
