O Ephraim, what have I to do anymore with idols? It is I who answer and watch over him. I am like a flourishing cypress; your fruit comes from Me. — Hos 14:8 BSB
Nothing holds back progress more than being stuck in ruts, drifts, and the well-worn paths that our lives often follow. We move in monotonous lines, carried along by the currents of habit, making real advancement feel almost impossible. The true remedy is to start fresh with Christ as the Alpha and Omega of a deeper, higher, divine experience. We must wait for His thoughts, desires, and prayers to fill us, realizing that even our highest thoughts may fall short of His great plan of wisdom and love.
O Comforter, gentle and tender,
O holy and heavenly Dove,
We yield our hearts in surrender,
We're waiting to know Your fullness.
O come as the heart-searching fire,
O come as the sin-cleansing flood;
Consume us with holy desire,
And fill us with the fullness of God.
Anoint us with gladness and healing;
Baptize us with power from on high;
O come with Your filling and sealing,
While we lay low at Your feet.
