Full of Song

You will indeed go out with joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands. — Isa 55:12 BSB

When sin is forgiven, our deepest sorrow is gone, and our greatest joy begins. The joy that God gives to those He has reconciled to Himself is so overwhelming that it fills the entire world with delight. Creation itself seems to hold music, and a renewed heart knows how to bring out that melody and make it heard. Creation becomes an instrument, and a person filled with grace finds the right notes to make the whole universe join in a song of praise. Mountains and hills form the bass of the song, while trees and all living things join in the melody.

When God’s Word flourishes and people are saved, everything seems to overflow with joy. When we hear the stories of new believers and the testimonies of those who are mature in faith, we are so filled with happiness that we can’t help but praise God. It feels like the rocks, hills, woods, and fields echo our joy and turn the world into a symphony. Lord, on this joyful May Day, lead me into Your world full of praise, like a bird singing at the break of day.
