The Overcomer's Reward

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To the one who overcomes, I will give the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone inscribed with a new name, known only to the one who receives it. — Rev 2:17 BSB

Let your heart be stirred to persevere in the spiritual battle, for the reward of victory is great. Today, we partake of spiritual nourishment that sustains us in our journey, just as the Israelites ate the manna in the wilderness. This manna represents the daily provision from heaven that never fails those on their way to the Promised Land. But beyond this daily provision, there is a higher spiritual life and a hidden manna reserved for us in Christ, which we have yet to fully experience.

In the golden pot placed inside the Ark of the Covenant, a portion of manna was kept, preserved forever without spoiling. This hidden manna symbolizes the deeper spiritual nourishment we will enjoy in eternity, hidden now but waiting for us. As we overcome through the grace of our Lord Jesus, we will partake of the King’s feast and enjoy the royal banquet. Jesus Himself is our hidden manna, sustaining us in both our highest and lowest moments. He is our strength in the fight, our victory, and ultimately our reward.

Lord, help us to overcome and grant us the strength to persevere until we partake of the hidden manna in Your eternal presence.
