Thank Him; Dwell Acceptably

Surely the righteous will praise Your name; the upright will dwell in Your presence. — Ps 140:13 BSB

Oh, that my heart may be pure, so I can always bless the name of the Lord! He is so good to those who walk uprightly that I long to be counted among them and feel gratitude each day. Sometimes, the righteous are shaken when their integrity brings severe trials, but there will come a day when they will bless God for not giving in to evil and for staying true to their convictions. In the end, those who remain faithful will thank God for guiding them on the right path. Oh, how I long to be among them!

What a promise is implied in the words, "The upright shall dwell in Your presence!" They will stand accepted while others are condemned. They will be like courtiers in the presence of the King, able to meet with Him whenever they desire. They will be God’s favored ones, upon whom He smiles and with whom He communes. Lord, I desire this high honor, this wonderful privilege. It would be like heaven on earth for me to enjoy this. Make me upright in all my ways, so that I may dwell in Your presence today, tomorrow, and always. Then I will give thanks to Your name forever. Amen.
