Our Field of Battle

For the LORD your God goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory. — Deut 20:4 BSB

We don’t have any enemies except those who are enemies of God. Our fight isn’t against people but against spiritual wickedness. We’re battling the devil and the lies, blasphemy, and despair he brings to the fight. We also fight against sin in all its forms—impurity, drunkenness, oppression, unbelief, and ungodliness. But we don’t fight with physical weapons. The tools we use in this war aren’t of this world.

Our God, Jehovah, hates evil, and He fights alongside us in this battle. He will save us and give us the grace to fight well and win the victory. We can be confident that if we’re on God’s side, He is on ours. With such a mighty ally, the outcome of the conflict is never in doubt. The victory doesn’t just rest in the power of truth but in the almighty power of the Father, Jesus who has all authority in heaven and on earth, and the Holy Spirit who works among us.

Soldiers of Christ, put on your armor. Fight in the name of the Holy God, and by faith, grab hold of His salvation. Don’t let today pass without taking a stand for Jesus and holiness.
