God Himself Shall Work

“Now I will arise,” says the LORD. “Now I will lift Myself up. Now I will be exalted. — Isa 33:10 BSB

When the land had been devastated by raiders, and the defenders sat down in tears, feeling utterly defeated, then the Lord came to their rescue. When travelers stopped making their way to Zion and the once fruitful lands of Bashan and Carmel seemed barren, that’s when the Lord arose. God is exalted in the midst of an afflicted people because they seek Him and trust Him. He’s even more exalted when He answers their prayers, delivering them and defeating their enemies.

Are you going through a time of sorrow? Expect to see the Lord glorified in your deliverance. Are you crying out to Him day and night? The time of His grace is near. God will rise up at just the right moment, in a way that brings Him the most glory. More than we long for our own relief, we long for His glory to be revealed. When God is exalted, our deepest desire is fulfilled.

Lord, help us in such a way that we see You working. Let us magnify You from the depths of our hearts. May everyone around us see how good and great You are!
