Possess, Not Only Profess
Whoever has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken away from him. — Matt 13:12 BSB
When the Lord gives a person grace, He doesn’t stop there—He gives even more. A little faith is like a seed, and more faith grows from it. But that faith must be real and true, not just a show. It’s crucial for us to be genuine in our faith and not simply make outward claims without substance. One day, if all we have is empty profession, it will be taken away.
Blessed be the Lord! When He begins His work in us, He continues it, pouring out more and more of His Spirit’s grace. Those who have just a little, but truly have that little, will be given abundance. Oh, how we should desire that abundance! Abundance of grace is something worth longing for. It’s good to know a lot, but it’s even better to love a lot. It would be wonderful to have great skill to serve God, but even better to have great faith to trust Him for skill and everything else.
Lord, since You’ve given me a sense of sin, deepen my hatred of it. Since You’ve led me to trust in Jesus, strengthen my faith to full assurance. Since You’ve made me love You, fill me with a passionate love for You!
