No Cause to Blush

Do not be afraid, for you will not be put to shame; do not be intimidated, for you will not be humiliated. For you will forget the shame of your youth and will remember no more the reproach of your widowhood. — Isa 54:4 BSB

We won’t be ashamed of our faith. Critics may attack the Scriptures we base our belief on, but every year, the Lord will prove more and more that His Word is without error, excess, or omission. There’s no shame in being a simple believer. Faith in Jesus is a crown of honor, better than any worldly accolade.

We won’t be ashamed of our hope either. The Lord will fulfill His promises. We will be provided for, guided, blessed, and given rest. Our Lord will return, and then all our mourning will end. We’ll rejoice in Him who gave us this living hope and then brought it to fulfillment.

We won’t be ashamed of our love. Jesus is everything to us, and we’ll never regret giving Him our hearts. The sight of Him in all His glory will justify the deepest devotion we’ve ever had. None will question the martyrs who died for Him. When Christ’s enemies are covered in eternal shame, those who loved Him will be honored for choosing Him over worldly wealth.
