Promise of Future Meeting
So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take away your joy. — John 16:22 BSB
He will surely come again. When He does, we will see Him, and He will see us, and there will be rejoicing! Oh, for that joyful return! But even now, this promise is fulfilled in a different way. Our Lord often returns to us with fresh grace. When He forgave us before, He comes again to reassure us with pardon. When we feel unsure of our acceptance before God, He comes again and says, "Peace be unto you," and our hearts are filled with gladness.
All the blessings we’ve received in the past are signs of more to come. If Jesus has visited us before, He will come again. Let no past mercy be viewed as a thing of the past. See it as a seed that will grow and bear fruit. If times seem dark now because we don’t sense His presence as before, take heart. He will not be gone for long. His feet are swift, and He will soon return. Let us be filled with joy now, for He says to us, “I will see you again.”
