Whom, When, How to Deliver

if all this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment. — 2 Pet 2:9 BSB

The godly are often tempted and tested. True faith is always put to the test. But the godly are delivered from their trials, not by chance or through secondary causes, but by the Lord Himself. He personally takes on the task of delivering those who trust in Him. God knows His people and watches over them with tender care, knowing where they are and how they fare.

Sometimes the path ahead seems impossible to navigate, filled with dangers we cannot escape. But the Lord knows how to deliver us, when to deliver us, and in the best possible way. He delivers His people in a manner that is best for them, most crushing to the tempter, and most glorifying to Himself. We can trust Him with the “how” and “when” of our deliverance, knowing that He will bring us safely through every danger and trial to His side in glory.

Today, it is not for me to figure out God’s secrets, but to patiently trust His timing. Though I know nothing, my heavenly Father knows all.
