Love the Church

You will rise up and have compassion on Zion, for it is time to show her favor—the appointed time has come. For Your servants delight in her stones and take pity on her dust. — Ps 102:13-14 BSB

Yes, our prayers for the church will be answered. The time has come. We love the prayer meetings, the Sunday school, and every gathering of God’s people. Our hearts are united with all believers, and we can say with sincerity:

There’s not a lamb in all Thy flock
I would disdain to feed.
There’s not a foe before whose face
I’d fear Thy cause to plead.

If this is how we feel, we will soon see times of refreshing from the Lord. Our gatherings will be full, the saints will be revived, and sinners will be saved. This will come only by God’s mercy, but it will come. We are called to expect it. The time has come; let’s get ready. Let’s love every stone of Zion, even if it has fallen. Let’s treasure every truth, every ordinance, and every believer, even if others think little of them. When we care for Zion, God is about to care for her. When we delight in the Lord’s work, He will delight in it too.
