His Kindness and Covenant
Though the mountains may be removed and the hills may be shaken, My loving devotion will not depart from you, and My covenant of peace will not be broken,” says the LORD, who has compassion on you. — Isa 54:10 BSB
One of the most beautiful qualities of God’s love is its enduring nature. The foundations of the earth may be shaken, but the kindness and covenant of our merciful God will never leave His people. How joyful my soul feels, fully believing this truth! The year is almost over, and the years of my life are growing fewer, but time doesn’t change the Lord. New things replace the old, and everything seems to be in constant flux, but our Lord remains the same. Forces of nature may topple mountains, but no power can affect the eternal God. Nothing in the past, present, or future can cause God to turn His back on me.
My soul, rest in the unchanging kindness of the Lord, who treats you as His beloved. Remember also His everlasting covenant. God is always mindful of it—make sure that you are, too. In Christ Jesus, the glorious God has pledged to be your God and has called you His own. Kindness and covenant—reflect on these words as solid, lasting realities that eternity itself will never take away from you.
