Nothing Old

And the One seated on the throne said, “Behold, I make all things new.” Then He said, “Write this down, for these words are faithful and true.” — Rev 21:5 BSB

Glory be to His name! All things need to be made new because sin has left them damaged and worn. It’s time for the old, worn-out world to be set aside and creation to be restored. But only the Lord, who made everything in the first place, can make all things new. It takes just as much power to remake things out of brokenness as it did to create them from nothing. Our Lord Jesus has taken on this task, and He is fully capable of completing it. He has already started, and for centuries, He has been transforming hearts and societies. In time, He will remake the whole world, and human nature itself will be changed by His grace. There will come a day when even our bodies will be made new, raised to be like His glorious body.

What a joy to be part of a kingdom where everything is being renewed by the power of the King! We’re not fading away; we’re moving toward a more glorious life. Despite the resistance from evil forces, our glorious Lord Jesus is fulfilling His purpose, making us and everything around us new and beautiful, just as they were when they first came from His hand.
