World Concord
Then He will judge between the nations and arbitrate for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will no longer take up the sword against nation, nor train anymore for war. — Isa 2:4 BSB
Oh, how we long for these peaceful times to come! Right now, nations are heavily armed, inventing more and more destructive weapons, as if the main purpose of humanity were to destroy each other. But one day, peace will prevail. Yes, peace will reign so fully that weapons of war will be repurposed for good.
How will this happen? Through trade? Through civilization or diplomacy? No, we don’t believe it. History shows that these methods are too weak to bring lasting peace. Peace will only come when the Prince of Peace reigns. He must teach the people through His Spirit, renew their hearts through His grace, and rule over them by His supreme power. Only then will people stop harming and killing one another. By changing people’s hearts, Jesus will remove their bloodthirsty desires.
Let every reader today offer a special prayer to the Lord, the Giver of Peace, that He would swiftly bring an end to war and establish peace throughout the entire world.
