Rules for Prosperity

Above all, be strong and very courageous. Be careful to observe all the law that My servant Moses commanded you. Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, so that you may prosper wherever you go. — Josh 1:7 BSB

Yes, the Lord will be with us in our spiritual battles, but He requires that we follow His commands carefully. Our success depends greatly on our wholehearted obedience, putting all our strength and courage into the actions of our faith. If we are halfhearted, we should not expect more than half a blessing.

We must obey the Lord with diligence and thoughtfulness. “Observe to do” is the phrase used, full of meaning. It applies to every aspect of God’s will, which we must follow with complete readiness. Our standard is “according to all the law,” without picking and choosing. We are to follow all of God’s commands, faithfully and exactly. Our path must be straight, without veering to the right or left. We should neither err by becoming overly rigid nor adopt a lax attitude out of convenience. With such obedience, spiritual prosperity will follow. O Lord, help us to test Your promise and see that it is true!
