Spurgeon's Prayer: Quicken Us, O Lord
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I have come that they may have life, and have it in all its fullness.
— John 10:10 (BSB)
If God gives you the grace to make you willing to be nothing, He will make something of you.
— Charles Spurgeon
O Lord, as we come before You today, we ask for Your Spirit to quicken us. You have given us life, but we seek more of it—life in abundance. We long for rivers of living water to flow from our hearts, that we may be refreshed and empowered to serve You. Quicken us, O Lord, according to Your Word, and fill us with the vitality of Your Spirit.
Father, we pray that You would make us useful for Your kingdom. Show us how we can serve You with the gifts You have given us. Whether in our families, workplaces, or daily interactions, may we be faithful stewards of the talents You have entrusted to us. Lord, use even the least of us, for in Your hands, our small offerings can bring great glory to Your name.
We ask for the courage and strength to spread the light of Christ in a world darkened by sin. As we walk through this day, may we speak boldly of Your love and grace. Help us to shine as lights in the growing darkness, bringing the truth of the Gospel to those who need it most.
Lord, let our lives be a testimony to Your power and grace. Quicken us with Your Spirit, and may the life You have given us overflow into everything we do. As we go forth today, may we be filled with joy and strength, knowing that we are alive in Christ. Amen.
