Spurgeon's Prayer: Victory Over Spiritual Battles
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.
— Ephesians 6:10 (BSB)
We are not to be fearful, but to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. It is not our strength, but His strength.
— Charles Spurgeon
Heavenly Father, as we come before You this evening, we acknowledge the spiritual battles we face each day. We know that we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of evil. Yet, we are not fearful, for we know that You are our strength. You have called us to be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, and tonight, we ask for Your strength to be poured out upon us.
Lord, we pray for the strength to stand firm in the face of temptation and discouragement. We know that without Your power, we cannot prevail, but through Christ, we have victory. Help us to overcome every temptation that comes our way, to resist the enemy’s schemes, and to stand firm in faith. May we not grow weary in the fight, but find renewed strength in Your Spirit.
Father, we thank You that the battle is already won in Christ. Though we face struggles and trials, we know that Christ has already conquered sin, death, and the enemy. Help us to live in the victory that Christ has won for us, trusting not in our own strength but in Yours. May we fight with confidence, knowing that the power of God is at work within us.
As we rest tonight, we ask for peace in our hearts, knowing that You are our protector and our strength. May we wake tomorrow ready to stand firm in the spiritual battles we face, relying fully on Your mighty power. Thank You, Lord, for the victory we have in Christ. Amen.
