Spurgeon's Prayer: Our Call to Be Light in the World

You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.
— Matthew 5:14 (BSB)

A Christian's life should be a living epistle, known and read of all men.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord, tonight we come before You with a desire to live as lights in this world, reflecting the life of Christ. You have called us to be the light of the world, and we ask for the grace and strength to live in such a way that others see Your light shining through us. May our lives be a testimony to Your grace, love, and truth, and may we always point others to You.

Father, give us boldness to share the Gospel with those around us. Help us to be faithful witnesses of Christ, not only in our words but also in our actions. Let our coworkers, neighbors, and friends see the difference that Christ has made in our lives, and may they be drawn to You through the light they see in us. May we live in such a way that others are compelled to ask, "What is this life?" and be led to seek Christ for themselves.

Lord, we pray that our lives would be rich in good works, shining brightly for Your glory. Help us not to waste the opportunities You have given us but to use our time and resources to further Your kingdom. May we bring others to the cross through our witness, and may our lives be a reflection of the love and grace of Christ.

As we rest tonight, we ask that You continue to transform us into the image of Christ, so that we may shine even more brightly in the world. Let us walk in the light as You are in the light, and may we bring glory to Your name in all that we do. Amen.
