Spurgeon's Prayer: Living in the Power of Christ’s Resurrection

I want to know Christ and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to Him in His death,
— Philippians 3:10 (BSB)

The resurrection of Christ is the cause, the earnest, the guarantee, and the emblem of the resurrection of all His people.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord, we come before You this evening to rejoice in the power of Christ’s resurrection. Because He lives, we too live, and we thank You for the new life that His resurrection has given us. We no longer walk in the old ways, for we have been made new in Christ. The power that raised Him from the dead now works in us, giving us strength and victory over sin.

Father, we ask for the grace to live in this resurrection power each day. Help us to walk in the newness of life that Christ has given us, putting aside the old self and living in the freedom of the new creation. May we live today and every day in the power of His resurrection, allowing it to transform our thoughts, desires, and actions.

We long to know more of the power of Christ’s life in us. Just as Christ was raised from the dead, may we experience that same power raising us up to live in holiness and righteousness. Help us to be mindful of the fact that we have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer we who live, but Christ who lives in us.

Lord, we pray that You would give us the strength to live as those who have been raised with Christ. May our lives be a testimony to the transforming power of His resurrection, and may we bring glory to Your name in all that we do. Let us walk in victory over sin and death, knowing that Christ has already won the victory for us.

As we rest tonight, we thank You for the new life You have given us in Christ. May we continue to live in the power of His resurrection, walking in the fullness of that life every day. Amen.
