Spurgeon's Prayer: Contentment in God’s Provision

Of course, godliness with contentment is great gain.
— 1 Timothy 6:6 (BSB)

As long as a man is alive and out of hell, he cannot have any cause to complain.
— Charles Spurgeon

Father, tonight we thank You for Your faithful provision. We know that everything we have comes from You, and we trust in Your promise that You will meet all our needs. Whether we are in a season of abundance or lack, help us to be content, trusting that You are working all things for our good.

There are many of us who face financial struggles, health concerns, or other challenges that can make it difficult to trust in Your provision. But tonight, we choose to place our faith in You, knowing that You are a loving Father who cares for His children. Just as You provided manna for the Israelites in the wilderness, we trust that You will provide for us, even in our most difficult seasons.

Help us to remember that true contentment is not found in material possessions, but in our relationship with You. May we seek first Your kingdom and trust that You will provide everything we need. Give us hearts that are content with what we have, and grateful for the many blessings You have already given us.

Lord, we confess that we often worry about tomorrow, forgetting that You have promised to care for us. Tonight, we lay all our anxieties at Your feet and ask for the peace that comes from trusting fully in You. Help us to rest in the knowledge that You are in control, and that You will provide for us according to Your perfect plan.

We thank You for Your faithful care, and we ask that You would help us to live with grateful hearts, always trusting in Your provision. Amen.
