Spurgeon's Prayer: Proclaiming the Lamb
The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
— John 1:29 (BSB)
Our great object of glorifying God is to be mainly achieved by the proclamation of the gospel.
— Charles Spurgeon
Father, as we consider the work of redemption, we are reminded of our mission to proclaim, "Behold the Lamb of God!" You have called us not only to enjoy the blessings of salvation but to share the message of Christ with others. May the focus of our lives be to lead others to Jesus, that they too may experience the love and grace that we have received.
Lord, we long to bear spiritual fruit for Your kingdom. Let us not be barren or unproductive in our faith, but may we see many come to know You through our witness. We pray that our lives would be a living testimony to the power of the Cross and the transformative work of Christ. Use us, Lord, to spread the message of salvation to those who have not yet heard.
We lift up the work of the Church to You, asking for Your blessing on all its endeavors. May Your kingdom come into the hearts of many through the faithful preaching of Your Word. Strengthen the churches that labor for You and empower individuals who work alone for Your cause. Let Your name be proclaimed by thousands, and may Your Word spread rapidly, bringing light to the darkest corners of the earth.
Father, as we proclaim the gospel, we ask for Your guidance and grace. Help us to lead many to Jesus, that they may find salvation in Him. Keep us focused on the mission You have given us, and let our hearts overflow with the love of Christ, that we might share His story with boldness and passion. Amen.
