Spurgeon's Prayer: Restoring the Wandering Soul

He restores my soul; He guides me in the paths of righteousness for the sake of His name.
— Psalm 23:3 (BSB)

The best way to deal with wandering is to return at once. The longer you stay away from Christ, the more you will suffer.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord, we thank You for being the restorer of our souls. There are times when we have wandered, but You have faithfully brought us back. For this, we praise You. We ask that You continue to keep us close to You and restore us when we stray. We know that without Your grace, we are prone to wander, but we trust in Your love to bring us back to Your fold.

Lord, if any among us have fallen into sin, whether it be addiction, dishonesty, or immorality, we pray for Your mighty grace to restore them. Bring back those who have wandered far from You and set them once again among Your children. Do not give up on them, Lord, but let Your compassion be stirred. May they return to You with weeping and repentance, finding You ready to forgive and embrace them.

We thank You that You are a God of mercy, ready to forgive and restore. We trust in Your promise to never leave or forsake us, even when we fall. As we begin this day, help us walk in the paths of righteousness, keeping close to You. Restore our souls, and let us live in the joy of Your salvation.
