Spurgeon's Prayer: Living for Christ's Glory

Whatever you do, work at it with your whole being, for the Lord and not for men,
— Colossians 3:23 (BSB)

You will never glory in God till first of all God has killed your glorying in yourself.
— Charles Spurgeon

Lord, as we come to the close of this day, we ask that You help us live fully for Your glory. We want to serve You with all our hearts, surrendering everything to You. Whether in our families, our work, or our interactions with others, let us live in such a way that brings honor to Your name.

Help us not seek our own glory or recognition, but to humbly serve You in all things. We ask for the grace to reflect Christ in everything we do, whether in word or deed. Lord, may our hearts be set apart for You, and may our lives shine as a testimony of Your grace.

Father, we want to live as those who are fully surrendered to You. Let us not be distracted by the fleeting things of this world, but help us focus on what truly matters—bringing glory to Your name. Keep us from pride and selfishness, and give us a heart that seeks to serve others for Your sake.

As we prepare to rest, we ask for Your peace to fill our hearts. Let us rest in the knowledge that we are living for Your glory and not for ourselves. Strengthen us for the days ahead, and help us continue to live as witnesses of Your love and grace.
