Spurgeon's Prayer: Gratitude for God’s Faithfulness

“Blessed be the LORD, who has given rest to His people Israel according to all that He promised. Not one word has failed of all the good promises He made through His servant Moses.
— 1 Kings 8:56 (BSB)

The glory of God’s faithfulness is that no sin of ours has ever made Him unfaithful.
— Charles Spurgeon

Father, this morning we come before You with hearts overflowing with gratitude for Your faithfulness. You have answered our prayers, even in times of great distress, and we give You thanks for Your kindness and mercy. When we were overwhelmed, You heard our cries and delivered us from our troubles. How often have You exceeded our expectations, giving us more than we ever thought to ask for? Your goodness has been greater than we imagined, and for that, we praise You.

Lord, as we reflect on Your faithfulness, we are reminded that not one of Your promises has ever failed. You have given us far more than we could have hoped for, and You have been true to Your Word in every way. Where once we were lost and wandering, You brought us into Your family and gave us a place at Your table. You have provided for our needs, cared for us in our weakness, and blessed us with gifts beyond measure. Truly, You are a God who delights in blessing His children.

We ask for continued faith this morning, Lord. Help us to trust in Your promises, even when we cannot see the way forward. Let us always remember how You have been faithful in the past, and let that memory strengthen us for the future. We know that You will never fail us, and we place our hope in You once more today. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.
