Spurgeon's Prayer: Strength for the Battle
The LORD will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
— Exodus 14:14 (BSB)
By perseverance the snail reached the ark.
— Charles Spurgeon
Lord, as we come to the close of this day, we are reminded that we are engaged in a spiritual battle. The enemy is strong, and we are often weak. Yet, we thank You, Lord, for the promise that You fight for us. We do not need to face this battle alone. Help us, Lord, just as You strengthened Michael and his angels to cast out the dragon. We trust in Your power to defeat every foe that rises against us.
Father, we are often weak in our own strength. Even when we try to fight, we stumble and fall. But we come to You, trusting in Your strength, not our own. Strengthen us, Lord, for the battle ahead. We know that the victory is already Yours, and we rest in the promise that You will soon crush Satan under our feet. Help us to persevere, even when the road is long and difficult, knowing that You walk beside us every step of the way.
Lord, we ask that You take away our fears and give us confidence in Your power. We no longer need to strive in our own strength, for You are the one who fights for us. Help us to be still and trust in Your victory. Give us peace tonight as we rest in the knowledge that the battle belongs to You.
As we close this day, we surrender our fears, our struggles, and our worries to You. We trust that You are in control, and that You will give us the strength we need for tomorrow’s challenges. Thank You for being our protector and our refuge. In You, we find strength and peace.
