Let another praise you, and not your own mouth—a stranger, and not your own lips. — Prov 27:2 BSB

We would do well not to talk about ourselves. People generally aren’t interested in hearing about you—from your own lips. Even if your good deeds, accomplishments, or talents remain unknown—what does it matter? God knows about them, and that’s enough.

One wise person said, “Think as little as possible about any good in yourself. Turn your eyes away from your achievements, influence, plans, or success. Above all, speak as little as possible about yourself. Our excessive self-love makes talking about ourselves foolish. Only duty should lead us to speak of ourselves, and then only to confess our sinfulness before God.”
