“Be angry, yet do not sin.” Do not let the sun set upon your anger, — Eph 4:26 BSB

The only way to keep our lives beautiful and full of love is to judge ourselves daily. Old accounts are hard to settle. Each sunset should remind us to reflect on our day and apply Christ’s teachings to our lives. Evening prayer should be a time to make things right—clearing away bitterness, anger, or envy from our hearts. Life is too precious to end any day holding on to these negative emotions. “Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry” is wise advice.

The anger left in your heart tonight will be even harder to overcome tomorrow. Bitterness only deepens when it’s allowed to fester, and who knows where it might lead? It could grow into something much worse unless you cast it out quickly. Let evening prayer flood your heart with love.
