I have glorified You on earth by accomplishing the work You gave Me to do. — John 17:4 BSB
Jesus is the only person who could ever truly say, “It is finished.”
Even the best lives are incomplete, leaving many things undone. Yet, we can learn from how Christ completed His work—by doing His Father’s will, day by day. He was only thirty-three when He died, still young by most standards. We often think of those who die young as having left work unfinished. But even a young person can complete their mission if they live faithfully.
The truth is, we all have enough time to do the work God has assigned to us. Even a baby who lives for just one day fulfills the purpose God has given them. The young person who dies at thirty-three, with many tasks still ahead, has finished their work if they have lived faithfully. God values faithfulness, not the number of years we live.
