Then the LORD said to Moses, “Behold, I will rain down bread from heaven for you. Each day the people are to go out and gather enough for that day. In this way I will test whether or not they will follow My instructions. — Exod 16:4 BSB

Everything God gives or sends to us tests us in some way.

Trials test whether we will submit with humility and patience to the hard and painful experiences and learn the lessons they bring.

But blessings also test us. They test our gratitude. Do we remember that each new blessing is from God? They test our faith. Do we still rely on Him when we have plenty? Often the trust that looks to God in times of need fails to do so when life is full. Blessings also test our obedience. Sometimes, when all our needs are met, we forget our responsibility to serve God. Every day is a time of testing. We are always on trial.
