For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance for the Jews will arise from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows if perhaps you have come to the kingdom for such a time as this? — Esth 4:14 BSB
The safest path in life is to move straight ahead in obedience to duty. The greatest danger lies not in the difficulties we face but in hesitating or turning back. He who pauses or falters is soon trampled by the advancing crowd.
This principle applies to all of life. No matter how hard or perilous a duty may be, we should fear failure more than the difficulty itself. People sometimes shy away from responsibility, afraid that it is too great for them. But in avoiding duty, they are actually placing themselves in a far worse position than if they had faced the challenge.
It is always easier and safer to do what God calls us to do, no matter the cost, than to refuse. God promises to give us the strength we need to perform any task He assigns, but if we disobey or neglect our duty, we step out of harmony with His will and face the consequences of our failure.
In the end, it is always easier and safer to obey, no matter how hard the task, than to avoid it. To fall out of line with God’s plan is to lose everything. To neglect the opportunities He gives us is to forfeit the blessings and rewards He has in store for us.
