He will again have compassion on us; He will vanquish our iniquities. You will cast out all our sins into the depths of the sea. — Mic 7:19 BSB
When God takes all our iniquities with His own hand and casts them with His own arm into the depths of the sea, they will never rise from those depths to witness against the family of God on the great and terrible day. Right now, your sins may feel very much alive within you, each one accusing you, demanding vengeance or punishment. Every slip, fall, backsliding, foolish word, or wrong action seems to stand against you in the court of your conscience. No matter what you do or how you live, sin moves, acts, and accuses, often bringing you into guilt and bondage.
But if God has had mercy on you, He has cast all your sins into the depths of the sea, and those sins no longer have eyes to look at you with anger, tongues to accuse you, or life to rise up and condemn you. They can no longer testify against you that they were committed, or that you broke God's law, leaving you under its condemnation. One of the most certain truths of God’s Word is the complete forgiveness of sins and the presentation of Christ’s Church on that great day, faultless before His glory with exceeding joy.
