blood—can clear it. The blood of Christ is as effective for the sins of blaspheming Peter as it is for the shortcomings of loving John; our iniquity is gone, all of it, and gone forever. Blessed completeness! What a sweet theme to dwell on as we begin a new day.

My soul, I urge you to store your treasures in the only secure place; place your valuables where they can never be lost. Put everything in Christ—set all your affections on Him, all your hope in His merit, all your trust in His precious blood, all your

joy in His presence. Then you can laugh at loss and defy destruction. Remember, all the flowers in the world’s garden will wither in time, and the day will come when nothing remains but the cold, black earth.
