Spurgeon’s Daily Help
"The rainbow will be in the cloud, and I will look upon it, to remember the everlasting covenant." It’s not about me remembering God; it's about God remembering me—that’s the foundation of my safety. It’s not my grasp on His covenant that secures me, but His covenant’s grasp on me. Praise God! The entire
structure of salvation is protected by divine power, and even the smaller details, which we might think were left to us, are guarded by almighty strength. Even the remembrance of the covenant isn’t left to our memories, for we might forget, but our Lord cannot forget the saints who are engraved on the palms of His hands.

Neglecting family prayer can bring great harm to our households. The practice of family prayer is the fortress of Protestantism. It’s the great defense against all attacks by those who set up their temples and tell us to pray there, through their mediation.
But no, our homes are temples, and every person is a priest at home. This is a strong wall of defense against superstition and priestcraft. Family prayer is the nourishment of family piety, and woe to those who let it cease.
