And you who have lost loved ones or may be grieving, don’t sorrow as those who have no hope. The death of Christ brings us comfort about

those who have passed away. They are gone, but do you realize how close they still are? The distance between the glorified spirits in Heaven and the saints still on earth may seem great, but it’s not as far as you think. We are not far from home.

Plautus once said that both the person who spreads gossip and the one who listens to it should be punished—one by hanging them by their tongue, and the other by their ears. If that were enforced today, we’d soon run out of wood for gallows! But there’s
