Today’s Quote

Sovereignty characterizes the whole being of God. He is sovereign in all His attributes.

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

There’s one great event that attracts more attention every day than the sun, moon, and stars combined. That event is the death of our Lord Jesus Christ. The eyes of all the saints who lived before the Christian era were always focused on it, and now, throughout the ages, all modern saints look back to

it. The angels in Heaven constantly gaze upon Christ. "Even angels long to look into these things," as the apostle said. The eyes of the redeemed are always fixed on Him, and thousands of pilgrims journeying through this world of tears have no higher focus for their faith than Christ.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

March 24

Few prodigals will ever return to their father’s house until they’re half-starved. And for their own good, it’s far better for them to be empty and weak than to be full and confident. If hunger brings us to our knees, it’s more useful to us than feasting.

A famine in the land and a famine in the heart may be our heavenly Father’s way of bringing us back home to Him.
