Spurgeon’s Daily Help
"And I will deliver you from the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem you from the grip of the terrible." — Jeremiah 15:21.
Notice the personal nature of this promise—"I will, I will." The Lord God Himself steps in to deliver and redeem His people. He personally guarantees their rescue. It’s not about
our strength or our weakness, but about God alone, shining brightly in His all-sufficiency like the sun in the sky. So why do we rely on our own abilities and consult with others, only to end up hurting ourselves? Be still, you doubtful thoughts, and know that the Lord reigns.

No ship was ever wrecked because the captain was too careful in checking his position; but many tragic stories tell of careless sailors who forgot their maps and recklessly sailed into rocks that could have been easily avoided. Let’s not be complacent
like others but wake ourselves up to be watchful, remembering that if we are wrong about the condition of our soul, it’s a mistake that can never be corrected.
