Today’s Quote

The prayer of faith is the key that unlocks the treasury of Heaven.

— Thomas Watson

Spurgeon’s Daily Help

We will never truly sing "Glory to God in the highest" unless we first pray to God. We need to cry out from the depths of our hearts if we ever hope to experience His glory. Prayer should be filled with love—love for our fellow believers and love for Christ. We only succeed in prayer when we believe.

The Holy Spirit is the one who gives us faith and strengthens it so that we pray with confidence in God's promises. Oh, how wonderful it would be if these beautiful qualities—faith, love, and prayer—would be as sweet and precious within us as fine spices because the Holy Spirit lives in our hearts! Most blessed Comforter, use your mighty power within us and help us in our weaknesses as we pray.

The Spurgeon Birthday Book

December 6

The person who is brought low and becomes fully submissive will find that God’s justice will not strike them down. Mercy is always found close to the ground. The flower of grace grows in the valley of humility. The star of hope shines brightest in the

darkness of our despair. The hand of justice spares the sinner who has thrown away both the sword of rebellion and the pride of arrogance. If we are willing to be and do anything or everything for the sake of Christ, we will soon find that He is everything to us.
