When they arrived at Bethsaida, some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. — Mark 8:22 BSB

There are many kinds of blindness.

Some people are physically blind and cannot see the beauty of the natural world. But others, with perfect eyesight, are spiritually blind, unable to see the things of God.

Spiritual blindness is far worse than physical blindness. Our prayer should be, “Open my eyes to see the spiritual beauty around me.”

There’s a story of a man who lived by the sea and often talked about the blue mountains beyond. His neighbors couldn’t see the mountains and thought he was just a dreamer. But one day, the man sailed away to explore the mountains and returned with treasures—gold, silver, and precious stones.

The spiritual world is full of treasures, too, if only our eyes are opened to see them.
