For the grace of God has appeared, bringing salvation to everyone. — Titus 2:11 BSB
Christian duty extends to every aspect of life. It’s not limited to religious gatherings or times of prayer. It touches all of our relationships and responsibilities.
The gospel teaches us how to be good citizens, how to live peaceably with others, and how to avoid speaking evil of anyone. It calls us to be gentle and patient, even with difficult people. At one time, we lived without the law of love, full of malice and envy. But now, the kindness and love of God have touched our lives, and we are to put away the things of our old life.
A gardener once found a lump of fragrant clay, and when asked where its fragrance came from, it answered, “One laid me on a rose.” When God’s love touches our lives, we should absorb its fragrance and sweetness. Christian duty is to live out the life of Christ in a world filled with darkness and evil.
