November 18

Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. — Luke 12:43 BSB

Life is full of uncertainties. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring. We may expect to live for many more years, but we could die tonight. We make plans for the future, but we must remember that our time on earth is limited. It’s right to make long-term plans, but we should also live each day as if it could be our last.

Jesus taught that we should always be ready for His coming. The best way to be prepared is to do our work faithfully every day, keeping things in order so that whenever the Master comes, we won’t be caught by surprise. If we live each day with this mindset, we’ll be ready, no matter when the end comes.
