Therefore I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. — Acts 20:26 BSB
It’s a blessing for any minister, or anyone, to be able to look back over their life and work and find nothing to regret—nothing they wish they hadn’t done.
That’s how we should all live. Paul’s reflection on his life provides a great example of faithful ministry. He stayed with his people and didn’t run off on countless trips. He loved his people—that’s the key to successful ministry.
No one who doesn’t love people can be a good pastor.
It’s a great achievement to be able to say, “I am innocent of the blood of all men.” This means we’ve done all we could to show Christ to them.
Paul’s farewell to the people he loved shows his deep care for them. It also shows his faith, as he entrusted them to God, knowing they wouldn’t be forgotten after he was gone.
