For I am the LORD your God, who takes hold of your right hand and tells you: Do not fear, I will help you. — Isa 41:13 BSB
Just as a father holds his child’s hand when they walk, God holds our hands as we walk through life. He is always beside us. We cannot fail if God is holding our hand. William Canton wrote:
Hold my hands!
In joy or grief, in hope or fear,
Lord, let me feel that You are near:
Hold my hands!
If ever I doubt
Your good Fatherhood,
And I can’t find rest in You,
Hold my hands!
Hold my hands –
These hands too quick to strike,
These hands eager for pleasure, –
Hold my hands!
And when, at last,
My eyes grow dim and my fingers cold,
And I reach for one last hand,
Hold my hands!
