Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, — Phil 3:13 BSB
We shouldn’t live in the past. No matter how full of blessing and goodness it was, we can’t stay there. Life is always moving forward, not backward. If we linger too long in the past, we’ll lose our place, and others will move ahead of us.
The best way to prepare for tomorrow is to do well with what we have today. Yet, we should still let the future inspire us. In moments of discouragement, it’s the hope of success that lifts us. In sorrow, it’s the promise of comfort that sustains us. For students, it’s the thought of future achievement that motivates them to study. For those struggling in life, it’s the hope of eternal life in heaven that keeps them strong.
We must let go of the past, with all its memories and blessings, and keep turning toward the future with hope and courage.
