The tempter came to Him and said, “If You are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.” — Matt 4:3 BSB
If Jesus had turned stones into bread to feed Himself, would that have been a sin? Yes, because it would have meant accepting guidance from Satan instead of the Father.
Jesus lived in this world as we must live. He came to face life as we face it, without using divine power to make it easier for Himself. If He had used His power to avoid hardship, He wouldn’t fully understand our struggles, as we cannot do the same. This would have been a violation of His mission to live as one of us. Furthermore, it would have shown a lack of trust in the Father, who had not commanded Him to turn stones into bread. We too must trust God in our circumstances and wait for His provision in His time, rather than taking matters into our own hands outside His will.
