“So then, be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” — Matt 5:48 NET

“I am the sovereign God. Walk before me and be blameless.”—“You must be holy to me because I, the Lord, am holy, and I have set you apart from the other peoples to be mine.”

For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.

You have been filled in him, who is the head over every ruler and authority.—He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness.—Strive to be found at peace, without spot or blemish.

How blessed are those whose actions are blameless, who obey the law of the Lord.—But the one who peers into the perfect law of liberty and fixes his attention there, and does not become a forgetful listener but one who lives it out – he will be blessed in what he does.—Examine me, and probe my thoughts! Test me, and know my concerns! See if there is any idolatrous tendency in me, and lead me in the reliable ancient path!

Accomplish holiness out of reverence for God. — 2 Cor 7:1 NET

Dear friends, let us cleanse ourselves from everything that could defile the body and the spirit.

Look, you desire integrity in the inner man; you want me to possess wisdom.—It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age.—“Let your light shine before people, so that they can see your good deeds and give honor to your Father in heaven.”—Not that I have already attained this – that is, I have not already been perfected.

And everyone who has this hope focused on him purifies himself, just as Jesus is pure.

Now the one who prepared us for this very purpose is God, who gave us the Spirit as a down payment.—To equip the saints for the work of ministry, that is, to build up the body of Christ, until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God – a mature person, attaining to the measure of Christ’s full stature.
